A Few Random Pics

Ben and Dad enjoying lounging on the couch after a Sunday afternoon nap. Is Mike getting a double chin? Mike, you need to get some working out in! Mom and the boys enjoying ice cream and a movie at Bugga's house.
Jake and Dad looking thru the tacklebox to find the perfect lure to catch that big bass!
This pic is a little older but it is just one of my favorites. Ben loves watermelon!

Another Trip to the Zoo- Seattle

Another exciting day at the zoo for the Mortimer boys! We went with our friends Steve and Heather and their son Micah. It was a great time.

Micah was so sweet to care for Ben while we were walking around. He held his hand and showed him around. Ben was a willing participant.

Jake got to feed the birds. I thought he would be scared of them but he wasn't at all! Steve got several birds to sit on his stick which had bird seed attached to the end. He was going to let Jake hold the stick with the bird on it but Jake misunderstood and tried to grab the bird. Needless to say, the bird took off in a hurry and we all got a good laugh.

A Trip to the Ballard Locks

Hello everyone- We had a rare morning today where both boys slept in until 9:30am! That has never happened before but we recently moved Jake and Ben into the same room so they are adjusting. It is so much fun to wake up in the morning to hear the boys chattering and belly laughing back and forth. I can leave them in there for almost an hour as they happily entertain eachother. It is great! After our trip to Boise where they both slept great on our crazy out of town schedule I knew I was ready to take the plunge and put them in the same room.

Anyway...all that to say, after we got up and around this morning we headed to the Ballard Locks to see the boats and fish. Jake is a little
camera shy this period of life so good pics are hard to get but enjoy what I have. After looking at boats and fish we ran across a sousa marching band (old folks so they weren't actually marching) and the boys danced and clapped their hands as we listened.

MK Morts go to Boise for the 4th

Hello everyone! The little boys and I went to Boise for the 4th of July week and had a great time with Grandpa Bob, Grandma Joan, and all our cousins and friends. Mike joined us for the weekend so I was glad for the extra hands on the flight home. Here are some pics. Unfortunately, I always forget to take more pics so we didn't get any of the boys with their cousins. Next time, next time...

First stop, the Boise Zoo with Grandma Joan. It was hot, hot, hot but the boys didn't seem to mind. Jake was enamored with the butterfly exhibit and told everyone how a butterfly landed on mom's arm.

The boys aren't too much into water sports but they did enjoy the kiddie portion of Cousin Geri's pool. Here are some pics of them trying on the goggles. Ben looked hilarious!

Jake got to go to the race track with Grandpa Bob and Dad. He loved it and came home talking about the fast cars and crashes. He also watched the original Herbie movie "The Love Bug" for the first time while in Boise. He hasn't stopped pretending that race cars are crashing and losing tires ever since. We went to the grocery store and had a car shopping cart. Jake kept having to get out and go get his lost tire to put back on. What a boy!

Well, I hope you enjoy my first attempt at blogging! More pics and stories to come as we have more adventures. The boys are growing up fast and doing new things everyday so I am sure there will be something to post soon!
